According to Lucas Enzersdorfer-Conrad, BitPanda’s chief director, banks are striving to use cryptocurrency despite the bear market and the damage caused to the reputation of digital assets by last year’s crashes. The expert noted the relevance of this topic in Europe after the adoption of new legislative acts on the Regulation on Crypto Asset Markets (MiCa).

Enzersdorf-Konrad noted that Coinbase does not have the necessary infrastructure for trading cryptocurrencies with banks, which will be possible thanks to the new partnership. Banks will also be able to track cryptocurrency transactions.

BitPanda has already established cooperation with a number of banks and fintech platforms, in particular with Raiffeisen, the European mobile bank N26, the French application Lydia, the British fintech application Plum and the Italian mobile bank Hype.
