Binance and SEC reach agreement on US client assets

Federal Judge Amy Berman Jackson signed a temporary agreement between the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and Binance.US . Thanks to the document, Binance will have access to customer funds while the regulator continues to conduct an audit. Thus, customers from the USA will be able to withdraw funds before the court verdict.

According to the approved Binance agreement.The US must prevent company officials from accessing the private keys of wallets. In the coming weeks, the American division of Binance will provide the court with information about its business expenses.

The conclusion of the agreement is a response to the SEC’s demand to freeze all Binance assets.US for the duration of the trial. The regulator is concerned that in order to conceal information, the exchange’s funds may be transferred offshore, and the evidence destroyed. In turn, Binance lawyers.US stated that freezing assets would be tantamount to the death penalty for the company.

Judge Amy Berman Jackson noted that it would be better for the parties to come to an agreement and did not freeze assets, as it would take a lot of time to study more than 4,000 pages of charges.
