On Monday, the Twitter account of the Arbitrum platform was blocked. The co-founder of Offchain Labs, Harry Kalodner, confirmed the suspension of the account and noted that the Arbitrum foundation is conducting an internal investigation about this.
A few hours later, the account was restored, and a representative of the social network support service commented on this situation as follows: “We have systems that automatically find and massively delete spam accounts. The Arbitrum account was also mistakenly assigned to this category.”
The account was blocked less than a week after the release of the new and long-awaited Arbitrum ARB token. The reason for the blocking was probably the fact that the launch of ARB led to increased activity of scammers. They used fake social media accounts and created phishing schemes to steal digital assets from investors. At the same time, a lot of similar accounts of attackers are still active on Twitter.
Togrul Maharramov, the developer of the Ethereum Scroll accumulative platform, announced an unacceptable situation on Twitter with the widespread spread of fraudulent accounts, while the official Arbitrum account is being blocked.
Recall that the American Arbitrum project, created with the support of Offchain Labs, is a layer 2 solution based on Ethereum and allows users to make transactions in the blockchain network with lower fees. Currently, Arbitrum is the largest cumulative Ethereum package by trading volume.
