The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has informed Consensys' lawyers that it will not take enforcement action against the company following the conclusion of its investigation. On the back of this news, the price of ETH rose by 2.6%. According to CoinGecko, the coin has gained approximately 3% in the last 24 hours.

The SEC informed Consensys that it is not currently taking any enforcement actions. This indicates that the commission will not be pressing charges regarding ETH sales. However, this does not mean that enforcement actions will never occur.

It is worth recalling that in April of this year, Ethereum developer Consensys filed a lawsuit against the SEC, seeking a federal court declaration that ETH is not a security. On April 10, Consensys received a Wells Notice from the SEC, indicating the regulator’s intention to file a lawsuit against the company for securities law violations related to the MetaMask wallet.
