The announcement of the launch of the new platform took place earlier this week. Chainlink Functions opens up the possibility for Web3 programmers to connect smart contract data to Web2 APIs to access AI computing.

The launch of Chainlink Functions will greatly simplify the integration of smart contract data in leading social networks. Michael Fabiano, head of Americas Media, drew attention to this. In an interview for the media, he said that Chainlink technology is an excellent solution for providing developers of smart contracts with direct access to data from AP (Associated Press), the world’s largest information and news agency on economics, politics and sports.

To date, the Chainlink Functions beta test has been launched on the Ethereum Sepolia and Polygon Mumbai test networks.

The news about the launch of the new platform did not lead to a significant increase in the Chainlink token on the stock exchanges. At the same time, the Chainlink development department regularly launches digital products that make blockchain technology an integral part of this world. Recall that in September 2022, the company announced a partnership with the SWIFT interbank messaging system for token transfers and communication via blockchain.
