According to the top manager of Chorus One, Gary Lieberman, the new hosting platform Red Horizon is only the first stage of cooperation with a major player in the field of blockchain or technology. The specialist is confident that Urbit will become a sought-after and popular product.

Urbit is a peer—to-peer network that provides each user with a “personal server” for storing personal data. It was launched in 2002 long before the launch of BTC.

Technically, Urbit is not a Blockchain. At the same time, the network shares many of the ideals of bitcoiners, in particular, an attempt to bypass intermediaries and centralized “Web2” applications that make a profit by monetizing user data.

The press release states that the new hosting is a great solution for the general public, the DAO and any other community that wants to leave MegaCorps behind.

Urbit is often criticized by leading ecosystem developers due to the difficulty of understanding and using the network. The emergence of hosting providers is partly due to an attempt to attract more users, simplify the identification process on the network.

The executive director of the Urbit Foundation, Josh Lemash, at the presentation of CoinDesk Consensus 2023, noted the growth during the year in the ID network due to the expansion of hosting services.
