Gemini crypto exchange has successfully returned to work after there was no communication with the servers of the trading platform for more than seven hours since late Thursday evening due to scheduled maintenance.
The day before, in a message from the technical support department, it was said that Gemini will be serviced by the exchange from 10:00 pm on December 15 to 12:30 on December 16. During the maintenance of the exchange, all user interfaces and trading are disabled. However, during the work, the exchange postponed the resumption of service several times, as a result of which the services were unavailable to users for more than 7.5 hours.
At 10:30 GMT, Gemini representatives announced the restoration of the exchange in full with confirmation of the security of all accounts and customer funds.
Earlier, the media reported that since the beginning of the crypto winter, Gemini management has twice carried out staff reductions of its employees. In addition, earlier in November, it was announced that the withdrawal of funds for the yield product, which worked in partnership with Genesis Global, was suspended.
